Benefit Packages

At Elevate, we operate with the philosophy that you know what is best for your family.

There are innumerable rewarding benefits to becoming a surrogate, and financial considerations are an important piece of the puzzle. Even though we are looking for gestational carriers who are not solely financially motivated, we want to make sure that while you are performing such a generous act for another family, your own family will greatly benefit as well. At Elevate, we value the selfless, compassionate women who provide this essential service to Intended Parents. We ensure they are well-compensated for their commitment to this special process.

How Much Do Surrogates Get Paid?

Compensation is only one part of the surrogacy journey—but it’s an important one. While most surrogates are motivated by more than just financial gain, it’s essential to acknowledge that fair, thoughtful compensation matters—and should be discussed openly and honestly.

At Elevate, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter compensation. While many first-time surrogates typically earn around $50,000, there’s no standard rate. Instead, we invite each surrogate to share what meaningful compensation looks like for them.

Whether you’re hoping to match what you’ve seen elsewhere, or you have specific goals in mind, we’re open to that conversation from day one. We’ll work with you to build a package that reflects your experience, location, insurance status, and personal needs—because we believe every surrogacy journey should feel not only fulfilling, but truly worthwhile.

We know that compensation plays a meaningful role. You’re making an extraordinary commitment, and it’s only right that your dedication is met with thoughtful, individualized support—tailored to your needs and your life.

This is not just a life-changing journey for the intended parents. It’s a transformational experience for you as well.

WHAT IS BASE PAY?

Base pay can be a confusing concept at many surrogacy agencies, creating bonus structures that make your payment schedule overly confusing. Surrogate bonuses, benefits and gifts are wonderful, but only if the surrogate actually wants or uses them.

At Elevate, we simplify things and operate with the philosophy that you know what is best for your family. Other than extraordinary circumstances, we roll nearly everything into your base compensation, and allow you to name your own compensation rate.

Your compensation package can be customized to be as individual and unique as you. Factors such as employment, previous experience as a surrogate, health insurance, and your geographic location typically play a large role in your compensation amount. Our team is happy to work alongside you to find a base compensation rate that works best for you.

Why is there a separate monthly allowance? During your journey as an Elevate Surrogate, all expenses are paid. And your monthly allowance will make sure of that. You will incur several miscellaneous expenditures throughout your pregnancy, such as mileage to your appointments, parking costs, prenatal vitamins, childcare costs during appointments, faxes, notary fees, and postage.

Rather than deal with the hassle of saving and submitting countless receipts for reimbursement, we offer Elevate Surrogates $300 a month to cover these small costs. This non-accountable stipend is more than enough to cover your miscellaneous expenses, and any remaining balances are yours to keep.

Unless you live close to your Intended Parents’ clinic, you will most likely need to travel on two separate occasions. You can elect to travel with your spouse or partner if you wish. Elevate’s travel coordinator will plan and book all your travel. We will send you a complete itinerary before departure to ensure your travel experience is as comfortable as possible.

When traveling, you will be entitled to:

  • Per Diem (for you and for your companion)
  • Round trip transportation (flights/trains/rental cars)
  • Hotel Accommodations
  • Ground Transportation Stipend (Uber/Lyft)

    Bon Voyage!

Your Intended Parents will always be responsible for medical expenses incurred during your pregnancy and in the months following your delivery. If your own insurance plan covers surrogacy maternity, your Intended Parents may cover your deductible and copays. If you are uninsured or your insurance is not surrogacy friendly, we will enroll you in a policy that is. All placement fees, enrollment fees, premiums, deductibles, and copays are covered. In addition to covered medical expenses, Elevate purchases life insurance for all of our surrogates.

We’ve got you covered.
