A Letter To My Egg Donor

I write this letter on behalf of intended parents all over the world that have needed the help of an egg donor to conceive and build their family. I write this letter from the bottom of my heart. I write this letter to my own egg donor, so all other women considering offering some of their genetic material to help a someone become a parent can know what what an incredible impact they will have on someone just like me.

First and foremost egg donor, THANK YOU. Thank you for being so selfless. Thank you for putting any concerns you may have had about sharing your DNA aside so I can be a father. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you for going through the nine days of hormones. Thank you for whatever discomfort you experienced and whatever you had to sacrifice in school or work to make your donation complete. Thank you for for coming through and being committed. Thank you for offering us the most incomparable gift.

Egg donor, know that there will never be proper words to thank you and no compensation rate sufficient to repay you for what you have offered me. Know that your act is one that cannot be matched. Know that gratitude will resound in the universe and come back to you ten fold for the remainder of your lifetime for doing something so generous for another human being on their life path.

When I think of you, energy immediately leaves my heart and soul and goes directly to wherever you are, hoping you feel my love and appreciation. In any down or dark moments you may have, may the joy and light from having done something so noble for others lift you up and carry you through.

Egg donor, thank you for being you. I searched high and low for a donor that got me enthused about a challenging process, and only you made me elated to continue. This is because of who you are and what you bring to the table as a human. Not only are you absolutely beautiful, you are smart, you are witty, you are FUNNY. You also happen to reflect my husband and I some ways. I know I only know a little about you, but it was enough to confirm that you are the one for us. You are the one that leaves me day dreaming about what kind of movers and shakers I will raise to go change up the game in this crazy world. 

You are more than just our “egg donor”. You are the conduit by which we will raise a fantastic little human. You are the door that made all of this possible. You offered us love, so we can offer a life love and in turn offer the world more love. At the end of the day, it is all out of love. 

Egg donor, you are powerhouse superwoman. You are a leader among young, strong women. You are many things I will never be. You are whom I am grateful for every single day of my life. You are an actual unicorn in a world of millennial musings. You, in short, are DA QUEEN. And you will forever be to us.  All hail, my dear egg donor. ALL. HAIL.
