Become an Egg Donor in North Carolina

Donating eggs is one of the most generous and selfless acts a woman can do for intended parents wanting to build their families. This valuable gift gives hope that the dream of having a child can become a reality. While the egg donation journey is exciting and rewarding, it can also be overwhelming. Fortunately, egg donors don’t have to go through it alone.

Elevate Donors is an egg donation agency that helps egg donors start their journeys and make their experiences seamless and special. Our professional team has years of experience providing concierge-level services to all our clients, so donors can trust us to support them every step of the way. Before egg donors start their journeys, we inform them about what to expect, the timeline to completion, and what they need to know before taking the first steps of egg donation.

Who Qualifies to Become an Egg Donor in North Carolina?

At Elevate Donors, we pride ourselves on being the gold standard in the industry. In order to cultivate our elite donor database for intended parents, we conduct a detailed screening for all egg donors to ensure they meet the American Society for Reproductive Medicine standards, along with any state requirements. The qualifications to become an egg donor in North Carolina include the following:

  • Physically and mentally healthy
  • Between 20 and 30 years of age
  • Healthy body mass index (BMI)
  • Good resting follicle count (AFC)
  • Non-smoker
  • No family history of genetic diseases
  • Does not take ADD or ADHD medication
  • Comfortable with self-injections
  • Passes a psychological exam
  • Easy to work with and committed to making all appointments

Once we have determined a donor meets these criteria, we continue the screening journey with an online application, one-on-one consultation, medical evaluation, extended questionnaire, background check, and genetic testing. We understand it can be difficult for potential donors to know if they qualify, so we are here to answer questions and address any concerns.

What Donors Can Expect During the Egg Donation Process

We understand every donor is different, so we offer personalized attention that helps each donor feel at ease. Typically, egg donation involves the following steps:

The first step in becoming an egg donor is filling out our short online questionnaire. This gives us basic information about the donor and helps us get to know them and whether or not this path is right for them.

If we accept a donor’s application, we continue the vetting process with more in-depth consultations and in-depth medical histories. . At Elevate we typically perform an anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) test as well.  After collecting photos and videos we are able to create a donor profile that intended parents can view and potentially match with.

Every donor and intended parent has different goals for their journeys, and we consider these needs when creating profiles for matching. Qualified egg donors are placed on our elite database and our clients from all over the world register to view donor options.  Once a family has selected a donor profile, then the donor is officially matched!

Medical Screening

Once a donor has been matched she will attend a comprehensive medical screening at the intended parent’s IVF clinic.  If travel is required, it is completely covered by the intended parents.  At this evaluation, donors can expect bloodwork, ultrasounds, and hormonal testing. A psychological and genetic counseling evaluation is also scheduled at this time.

After medical and legal clearance, the donor begins preparing for retrieval by giving themselves hormone injections, which induce the ovulation of multiple eggs during one cycle. We continue to monitor the donor’s progress, and once the eggs are mature, they are retrieved using sedation to make the procedure as painless as possible.
