Our surrogacy team will set up a match meeting between intended parents and the surrogate we feel may be the best fit for their surrogacy needs. However, before this meeting, intended parents will not go in blind. We ensure that intended parents have been presented with a detailed profile of the potential surrogate mother they will be meeting. 

Both the intended parents and the potential surrogate should already meet each other’s unique non-negotiable criteria, and the surrogate should meet all requirements for eligibility in Vermont and our own agency criteria, which include the following:

• Surrogate mothers must be between the ages of 21 and 40 years old
• Surrogates should have a body mass index of 32 or lower
• Surrogate mothers should have at least one uncomplicated pregnancy and be currently raising at least one child
• Surrogate mothers should be generally healthy
• Surrogate mothers should be non-smokers
• Surrogate mothers should be financially stable
• Surrogate mothers must be willing to undergo medical and psychological evaluations

During the Meeting

• The option for breast milk

We encourage both parties to keep this meeting as stress-free and relaxed as possible.

After the Meeting

The intended parents and the surrogate should always take time to think before making any binding decisions after the surrogacy match meeting. Our surrogacy team recommends taking 24 hours to make the final decision. However, if more time is needed, neither party should feel pressure to make a decision on the spot.
