The Dos and Don’ts if You Want to Donate Eggs for Money.

It’s no secret; the egg donation industry is growing at an astonishing pace. As science and technology advances, more and more couples are turning to egg donation to build their families. In turn, the need for quality egg donors is in higher demand than ever before.

If you are a woman between the ages of 19 and 30 and want to help others have the family they desire, you could be the perfect candidate to donate eggs for money.

Want to learn more about what to expect during your egg cycle? Here’s our list of dos and don’ts every donor needs to know.

Don’t Make it All About the Money

When it comes to egg donor compensation, Elevate Egg Donors and Surrogates offers some of the best compensation packages in the industry. We believe every woman should be treated fairly for her time and generosity.

And while it’s true the egg donor compensation you receive for donating your eggs could easily be used to pay off some student loans or for a down payment on your first apartment, it shouldn’t be the only reason why you donate.

The motivating factor behind a successful egg donor is her desire to help. She understands that not every couple who desire to have a child can do so in the traditional way. She recognizes the need for a family who can’t have a child of their own and wants to provide them with a healthy egg.

The egg donor who donates for the right reasons will end up feeling happy and satisfied with her decision to donate eggs.

Don’t Do Drugs

This may seem obvious, but when it comes to certain kinds of drugs, just say no.

Even something as harmless as cannabis that is used for relaxation or pain will need to be stopped immediately once the cycle agreement is signed. If there is any drug use at all, it will show up in any blood work that needs to be done.

We want to give the egg donor and intended parents the best chance for success. This means that any positive drug test will result in a cancelation of the cycle.

Please address any concerns regarding drug use to our team when applying.

Do Take Care of Yourself

To produce healthy eggs, the egg donor must be healthy. This means taking some extra time to take care of herself during your egg donor cycle.

We encourage our donors to book a massage, relax at the hotel, and enjoy a nice dinner. Often donors will receive a travel allowance. Use can use this allowance to spoil yourself a little and relieve any stress. When our donors are relaxed, it will ensure an easy egg retrieval and a quick recovery.

While we will do our best to make sure all of our donors’ needs are met during the egg donor cycle, it’s ultimately up to them to remember the basics of self-care

Hydration and Electrolytes

During the egg cycle, your body is working extra hard to produce multiple eggs. Donors must stay hydrated by drinking water and fluids with electrolytes.

Healthy Diet

Maintaining a well-balanced diet is always essential, but even more so during an IVF egg cycle. We want our donors to make sure they are getting enough leafy greens and fruits full of antioxidants.

During the egg cycle, women tend to feel more bloated because of the various medications. To help with the bloating, we advise avoiding high-sugar and high-carb foods.

Relaxation

The female body is amazing, and especially so during the donor cycle. Try to find time to relax so your body can do its thing — produce eggs. Now is not the time to move to a new apartment, start a new fitness regimen, or train for a marathon.

Do Show Up

An essential part of being an egg donor is showing up for appointments. An egg donor must be reliable. She needs to show up on time and be ready for every appointment that is scheduled.

These appointments are vital to the success of the cycle. It will help us know how healthy the donor is, when to start the medications, and when she is ready for egg retrieval.

Do Ask Questions

During the egg donation process, there is a team of experts who are available to answer any questions that may arise. If a donor is unsure about anything, we want her to be able to find the answers. Donors are always welcome to contact the agency, the physician, or the IVF clinic.

Our donors must have all the information they need so they can be comfortable and confident during the egg donor process.

Do Have a Support System

Going through the egg donation process is unlike anything else. It’s new and exciting! Especially when you think of the end result — helping a family grow.

But, it’s also a new and different experience for the egg donors.  Whether it’s a supportive spouse or an experienced egg donor, it’s important to have a safe place to turn to if you start to feel overwhelmed or need to talk through your feelings through the process.

And remember, you will need a companion with you during the egg retrieval.
